Guest guest
Chrissy - I just read your post to Fliss about what Dr. wants to do with regard to having a tp/ict. Does he want you to have it right away? Seems they'd want to wait a bit longer for you to recover a bit from the last op. But, I've heard much praise for Dr. in the various posts so I would go with it I guess. Anyway, keep us posted ok? The other thing really struck a nerve w/me (reminds me alot of where I work/worked??) is the way your supervisor handled that whole thing. My God, right in front of staff, families, patients?? That was very unprofessional of her to say the least!! I can totally see how reporting her/not reporting her puts you in quite a quandary but (and only my 2 cents!) I would probably bring the matter up with the next level of management above her. From what I've read...you worked long and hard to get that nursing degree and worked long and hard at your job as well. That should count for something in my humble opinion. I've been at my job for 17+ years and I know that from certain people I would receive exactly the same sort of treatment that you got. Just as an example of how some of the people where I work are what I would call " two faced: the secretary in my division lives directly in back of me - literally " over the fence " and have I gotten a " how have you been feeling " when I see her outside? NO!!! Nothing!! It just blows me away when people don't have any empathy for anyone particularly people they work with EVERY DAY!!! I guess I was brought up differently than those type of people...I mean, even if I couldn't stand the person...just as a matter of common courtesy (esp. when that person lives DIRECTLY in back of me!!) I would inquire as to how they were feeling, can I be of help in some way? Sorry for rambling....but I can totally relate to this one!! Don't lose out on a well established career by getting (or not getting as the case may be) a negative report from this person...you worked too hard for that Chrissy!! I would go over her head if it was me....like I said, just my 2 cents!! Keep us posted... > Sounds as though the NHS is a good system and I'm glad that it is > there for you as well as your private.
