Guest guest
I am the father of Ben, who will turn 3 in January. I have Crohn's disease and have been on the SCD for 6 months with great results. Ben has not yet been diagnosed, but exhibits some symptoms of high functioning ASD. My wife and I are preparing to start Ben on the SCD within the next few weeks and are looking for some advice on how to implement the diet for him. He is a very picky eater with a very limited diet. He eats no meat except commercial chicken nuggets. He eats virtually no vegetables. He does eat some fruit (apples, raisins, bananas), nuts, and seeds. He has not exhibited any obvious GI problems, but based on my experience and history, we feel that the SCD might be the solution for Ben. Our questions are as follows. - What is the recommended approach for young children - cold turkey or gradual introduction? - Are there any suggestions for kid-friendly comfort foods that are legal and can become a new staple in the diet? - Are there any suggested web sites with recipes for young children? - Ben is still breast feeding. I assume this is legal on the diet and encouraged, correct? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks Todd
