Guest guest
Hi- I am new to this board, but noticed your post and wanted to respond. We live in SW Missouri and, in discussing possibilities for treatment, our physical therapist mentioned that he could either get a starband locally or a Doc Band out of Kansas City. I googled it and this link came up: http://www.cranialtech.com/ParentsArea/now-i-lay-thee-down.pdf From the above article put out by Cranial Tech, it seems that there is a CT clinic in Kansas City (although, I too had searched locations on their website and was initially disappointed to see the options). I'm not sure, but it is worth further investigation. Good luck! > > Hello, I have a four month-old daugther who has flatness on both sides of her head. The specialist I went to in Kansas City prescribed the Hanger Band. We live in Wichita, Kansas and this is the only band company in town. He wants us to wait until she is 5 months before banding to see if there is any change in her head from aggressive repositioning and tummy time (which we already have been doing) and also because he wants her head control better because the band can be heavy. After doing research, the Doc band looks like the best on the market and only weighs six ounces. The nearest location is Dallas, Texas which is over 300 miles away. Is this feasible? I want the best therapy for her. >
Guest guest
Thank you for asking this question. I asked the same thing a couple days ago in my post about needing to decide which kind of band to go with. I'd like to go with CT but the nearest one is 4.5 hours away. Since the appointments are so frequent, it's no minor commitment. My little one hasn't even been on that long of a car trip. But I think I will go to the free assessment and make a decision from there. > > Hello, I have a four month-old daugther who has flatness on both sides of > > her head. Guest guest
There used to be a CT in Kansas City but it closed several years ago. I have not heard of a new one reopening. Guest guest
Can someone send the name of the database that is referred to here? I was looking and didn't see one that had comments about peoples experiences, unless I overlooked it. Guest guest
, I didn't know there was a Hanger in Wichita. You should post a message with Wichita Hanger as the subject to ask if anyone's used it. We went to Hanger in Kansas City, the one at KU medical. The orthotist we worked with was Thom Eis, and he's really good. My only issue with him was that he doesn't seem to think that brachy is a problem unless there is significant flatness. (You can read my posts whining about not getting a second band for my son.) But KC would be quite a commute for you so you should investigate the local one. As others have said, really the main thing is the orthotist's experience level. Good luck! > > Hello, I have a four month-old daugther who has flatness on both sides of her head.
