Hello, I have read your mails and understand that what I thought was a

swedish problem exists everywhere.I have been laughed at right in my

face talking about serious painproblems and the quality of life just

below zero, just wanting to leave this sick body and feeling so sick

that I dont know if I will make it to summer. - Well dont you live on

the sixth floor, you will live long enough your bloodtests are " better "

then a healty persons if of course you dont use your balcony as possible

way out. Ha , Ha. Said the doctor, gastroentereologist/hepatology ( I

have asked and begged for someone specializied in Pancreas, he claims he

is, the others are surgeons). No special diet needed, he says if I dont

need that kind of control he could make one up for me just to please

me!!!!!!! My urge for sweets, -no problem- keep on eating sweet things

if you want it. He asked me what I do all days, sit at home and relax on

my sofa, did I have a social life or perhaps the psychiatrist needed to

see me and no more sicknessleave without a consulting psychotherapists

judgement concerning my pain, tiredness, symptoms. Why do we have to go

through this, if there weren´t ill people and disable persons there

would be no job for doctors. I have met a few thouhg who have been great

but at the moment so much of the precious little power I have got left

is wasted on anger and mostly feeling insulted by the person who should

be helping me. Once again without the help I have had from you out

there, I would not have done it so far.

Butterfly rashes, I get red spots on my face, coming and going, mostly

when I am feeling really bad and then also very sensitive lips, gums,

all through my mouth.

Anyone recognize that?

Is there a doctor out there, one who can see this problem mentioned

amongst your collegues reacting the same way as many of us to this kind

of arrogant treatment?

Love from Stockholm Sonja

Sonja,

Can you get yourself to a good doctor somewhere else? I believe

there are a lot of good doctors in Germany, only from what I've

encountered whilst searching the website for the past few years for

my own illnesses. Sometimes I just put in a sentence to the search

browser and get answers that way..for example, I might type in

pancreatic specialists in Sweden....and see what it gives me, then

pick a site, and then will type in the doctor's name in the browser

and see if it brings up his bio...I did this with a renowned surgeon

at Duke and after all of that, found that that is who my GI would

have recommended to me.

It is worth a try. You might not have to try out of your country, if

you haven't seen any other doctors in areas nearby or not so nearby

then you could try that..also you could do a search on the major

hospitals that you've heard of, and go to the gastrointestinal

departments or find a physician section and see if they can help

you..or phone them and ask to be put through to the GI clinic and

ask about a pancreatic specialist and if you need a referral or not..

Don't know if you have done these things, but I spent a lot of time

finding my own doctors and making appointments rather than waiting

for a doctor who didn't believe me or kept lagging. It paid

off..took a while, but definitely was worth the time and effort.

Regards,
