Guest guest
, We went through the same thing with our son taking his pants and diaper off constantly the first couple of weeks we started the diet. He would take runny poop filled diapers off and then just sit and play in his room, so poop would be on the carpet and on his bed wherever he sat. It was so frustrating! I started taping his diaper on with silver duct tape. The first time I just did a strip across the front over the tapes, but that didn't work because he found the end and just ripped the tape off. I finally had to tape it completely around him so he couldn't find the end and get the tape off. It worked. You do have to cut it off though when you need to change them, but it was definitely worth it. I also took the broth from the chicken soup and put it in his juice cup along with white grape juice and some water. The white grape juice is sweet enough to cover the taste. I didn't add much salt to my broth as I cooked it, so it wasn't a strong salty broth either. You might try that to get some nutrition in her. There is no way my son would eat the broth off a spoon. I also peeled then cut into bite size pieces and cooked my apple and peaches. After they were cooked I drained them on a dish cloth and then put them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and froze them. Once they were frozen I put them in ziploc bags. He loved to eat the little frozen bite size pieces. Now he will eat the cooked fruit without it being frozen. He loves it now with dripped yogurt. You also said you give her orange juice. Orange juice causes me and my son to have D. When he was really little and would get constipated I would freshly squeeze an orange and give him that juice and it would very quickly give him loose stool. This could be causing your daughter a problem. You might stop the orange juice for a couple of days and see if the D stops. We are all pulling for you. Hang in there. It can be so hard because we just want our kids to eat, but we have to be the strong ones and make sure that the food they are getting is actually helping their body and not hurting it. Just because it is food doesn't mean that it will help her if her body can't digest it and assimilate it. As everyone has said, if she is drinking juices and staying hydrated and if you can sneak in some other nutrition, then stick it out and she will finally come around. We are in a war for our children's health. War is hard and dirty and takes all we have to give, but if we aren't willing to do it for our kids, no one else will. I'll be praying for you.
