Guest guest
Anne Marie, Dr. Sutherland's secretary has asked if the PAI could serve as a referral and consulting resource for inquiries they receive and for their patients who are planning on having the Total Pancreatectomy and Islet Cell Transplant surgery. They have done so much for to help so many, that the PAI wants to help out any way we can. The PAI needs your help. At this time we only have a random list of contact information regarding persons who have had the surgery. If you want to be part of this TP/ICT Contact & Inquiry Committee, please send the following to: KarynWms@.... This information will be maintained in a confidential file. The purpose of the information is primarily to serve as a means of connecting inquiries with the best suitable contact. First & Last Name Date of Birth [must be at least 18 yrs old, or have parental consent] Mailing Address Telephone Number(s) Email Address Date of Diagnosis Date of Surgery If your story is not posted at: http://pancassociation.org/storieshome.html, or if it has not been updated to include your experience making the decision, going through the procedure, and the year of recovery that follows, please also send in either your story or an update to the current one posted. It is important to remember that the PAI is comprised of members worldwide, many of which do not have computer access. The toll free Pancreatitis hotline receives daily telephone inquiries from family members with loved ones in the hospital and others who have never had any contact with anyone else with Pancreatitis. They are not in a position to log on and connect with others who have had this surgery. Can you imagine being told about this surgery, when all your life you have been told you can't live without your pancreas? This is a tremendous service we can provide and at the same time, it will enable us to become a little more organized. We are actually working with several of the other clinical trial hospitals doing the Islet Cell Transplant, cadaver organ transplants, and other pancreatic research. I appreciate your support and assistance.
