Guest guest
Hi there! Yes....I know about the stress of the job! I have only recently begun to feel that I could face retirement. The fact that my husband has retired makes a big difference, plus I'm feeling MUCH more tired these days than I used to. I think I'll be ready to go next year. Indeed, I hope I last out! I'll lose a bit of pension because of going a year early (59) but it'll be worth it. A few years ago there was a surplus of teachers and people got fantastic deals, with enhanced pensions, in their early 50's. Trust me to lose out again!! There's a real shortage of teachers just now so they're quite keen to hold on to us oldies even though we're more expensive! I'm going to go to Barcelona if I possibly can. As Chrissy says... " Carpe diem " !! I'm mainly needed to help ensure good behaviour so that shouldn't be too hard. If you don't get that when the head and deputy head are both present, there's not much hope!! I hope you are feeling OK at the moment. It is so weird that you speak of seasonal attacks. For several years I have had flare-ups in October/November in particular. Easter can also be bad. Wonder why? Keep well Cecilia and keep on advancing in that career! 63 seems very late to retire?? With very good wishes, Fliss (UK)
