Guest guest
Hello! I had an endoscopy ultrasound today...and I was hoping someone could explain to me a few things. Here is my question(s). My report said I have two benign appearing lymph nodes in the peripancreatic region. They were round, characterized by hyperchoic focci and heterogenous. They measured 12 mm by 10mm and 12 mm by 5 mm and had poorly defined margins. No biospy was done...so I am wondering, is this normal? Should a biospy be done? Should I be concerned? Could this had been possibly a pseudocyst? My offical diagonis is now chronic pancreatitis. Although they can't figure out what is causing it. My problem started nearly 4 years ago after having my gallbladder removed and then I had to have a retained stone removed...it has been giving me problems since. I have had 3 ERCP's, my last one February caused Pancreatitis (again), and the pain has been unrelenting every day since. I can no longer have those ERCP's done...next time it will be surgery. It is like having a ticking time bomb inside of me. I never know when I will have an acute attack, and I live with varying degrees of chronic pain everyday now. So, anyone have any insight? I would have asked my doctor more questions, but I was still loopy when he came by and explained to my husband...and gave us the report. There was a lot of other things on this report, I understand most of it, but having a hard time finding info on perpancreatic lymph nodes... without the word of cancer mixed in with it....I would like to think that if it was something of great concern, they would have done the biospy. I read your post every day, it is so comforting to have such a wonderful group of people who understand. I don't write in much, but I am constantly reading, and all of you are in my prayers. Thanks for any insight! Suzi B.
Guest guest
Hi suzi; I 'm not too sure what they mean by peripancreatic lymph nodes. Thinking the term " peri " as being around the organ. Lymph nodes are the garbage cans of the body. It is part of our defense mechanisms for fighting off bugs. Sometimes enlarged lymph nodes need to be removed but often times not unless they are blocking a vessel or are terrible painful. When you had your ercps did they do monomotry on the sphincter of oddi? You condition sounds very familiar and many of us feel the same ways most of the time. You have definely come to the right place. I have recieved so much love and support on this board that it has helped tremendously when dealing with all the stress. Where are you from? I am in SC. Well welcome aboard and if there is anything that I can help you with please dont hesitate. Warmly, > Hello!
