Guest guest
Mindy, I think everyone's health policies vary and what they cover. Do you have a contract with all that your insurance covers? Or call your insurance,, that is the best way to get the facts from the source. I have never heard of an insurance company that will buy you a treadmill. But I do know my insurance makes deals with health clubs in the area and you get a reduced rate. Also I think they have a coupon of some kind that you will get 10% off purchase of equipment, or $10.00. Yours might have some good deals. Another idea is walk around the inside of your house, or do step ups on the bottom step of your stairs. I am of course just assuming you have stairs, or that you can go in a circle inside your house. Guest guest
Mindy, Check with your insurance carrier. Sometimes if a doctor will write a prescription the insurance company will pay for it. Guest guest
Some insurance companies will IF they get a Rx from the doctor saying it is medically needed. .Also , some states have programs for things like that for adult CF folks. What state are you in. Oh, someone said that some equipment companies have compassion programs too that will give big discounts, free , OR give to you if you give them a letter saying how helpful it is for they to reprint . .cant hurt to ask:):) LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV question about exersice equipment hi everyone, does anyone know if insurance will pay for a treadmill or if there's another way to get one. we do not have the money to buy one and my doctor's now think that lack of exercise is partly why my function test was only 17%. with it getting cold i can't walk outside as much if at all because the cold air gets into my lungs and i get sick. i think a treadmill could be the solution i will get exercise and it will be inside where it's warm. mindy ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
Mindy, I am sitting here looking at our clutter catcher/treadmill and wish there were some way I could get it to you! You don't live near San Diego do you? You could go and walk around the mall, assuming you live by one or it is an indoor mall. I see people doing laps in the mall all the time. Good luck to you!! e
