Guest guest
Hi gang, I don't post often but lurk as much as I can. I had my MGB on 7- 19-00 and on 9-19-00 I had lost 44lbs YEAH!!!! I have had a rough week. I am an R.N. working in the recovery room and we had a 28yo lady have the open roux-en-y 9-14-00 she went home 5 days later and died that night at home. She had no co-morbidities other than obesity. Her autopsy showed peritonitis. I mention this to you all because as you quest for what surgery is best for you please educate yourself with all the information available. It took me 1 1/2 years to decide on the MGB. I used some of my contacts in the OR to check out Dr.R. and his skills and techniques. As far as a statement made about his statistics remember there are many people who have this surgery that never join the e-group. I met many people at my pre-op and post-op clinic that never use the e-mail or any groups. Many people after their surgery move on with their life and do not have the time to be involved. I keep up with about 10 people who have never been on this list. I will be happy to be a contact to pre-ops but sometimes it is 3-4 days or longer for me to answer but I will just give me time. I work 40-60 hours a week depending on how busy we are in the OR and am involved with church and 3 children. My e-mail address is FHPGunny1@....
