I would imagine that the GI could do a better job without your

assistance. I know that I do not respond well to IV sedation and am

constantly interrupting whatever procedure I am having. I may not

remember because of the Versed, but am always told by the doctor

that it was more difficult because I always kept I kept 'waking up'.

Versed is an amnesiac medication given to patients during IV

sedation or 'light' procedures. When given in appropriate doses, the

patient won't remember anything that happened. Personally, even if I

don't have conscious memory, I have always had haunting 'flashbacks'

or nightmares. I don't think you can erase or block off cellular

memory. (But that doesn't mean I would turn down the offer of Versed)
