Littermates is because you are " born w/ a group of others " -like a puppy. Dancing means your having surgery. Crossing to the other side means you're also having surgery. This whole process makes you feel overwhelmed, but you'll come out very well informed and comfortable with your decision. Osler
Guest guest
Hi ette: Dr. R orders Demorol, not morphine. I think that calling it a morphine pump is just something someone started saying and it stuck..it's actually a demorol pump. LOL and I pushed that baby so much I should know! My husband hallucinated on morphine. It was really strange. A nurse who took care of him when he had a back surgery (he's had 5) knew him for years. She called me at work and said that I needed to come to the hospital (he was in 2 1/2 mos. so I had to go back to work) and talk to the Dr because he was " out of his head " . I went up there and indeed he was hallucinating! I guess it is different for everyone. They put him Demorol and the hallucinations stopped and he got good pain relief. I read your post on TRUTH this morning that said that you couldn't post here. I got the impression from your post that you thought you were being banned because you had asked questions. That is not so. Anyone can and should ask questions on this list. That's the purpose of the list...to ask questions. If you want medical answers, the best way to ask is to email Dr. Rutledge or ask your own Dr. It was my own Dr. who eventually helped me to make the decision to have MGB. If you have a general question for the group, just post it. Eventually someone who knows will answer. There have only been a very very few people " banned " from the group. This was done by Dr. R at the request of quite a few of the members here who asked and asked him to ban certain people. He eventually yielded but did tell us that he saw nothing wrong with questions. I was one of those who requested that be removed from the list because she wasn't asking questions. She was being extremely verbally abusive to anyone here who tried to reach out to her. (And I hate to admit it but people were pretty crappy back at times). Having her here was destructive and completely sidetracked what we are here for...to ask and to learn. Eventually some of us got tired of the fighting and the posts back and forth and we pressured Dr. Rutledge for at least a week before he gave in and removed and Walter. Most of us were very relieved when that happened. Apparently egroups is full of strange glitches. I've had trouble on my tole painting list also and I've belonged for 5 years...so it's not personal..no one is trying to keep you out..apparently egroups is acting strange. It does pretty frequently! And it treats some isp's differently than others. Some days I cannot get a message to my group then a few days later I'll see the same message several times. Computers are like that. LOL Best wishes to you as you look into WLS. It's a big decision and it's not for everyone. ly, I wish there had been another way. But I didn't have another diet in me! I specifically had MGB because that's what my Dr. wanted me to have. I'm glad I did so. I feel better than I've felt in many years and at four and a half months I am down 76 pounds and I'm 58 tomorrow..so much for slow weight loss for post menopausal women!
