Guest guest
Dear all, as my surgery date draws near (Oct 4th) I've been giving some thought about how I would like to commerate this passage in my life. I was only going to send this message to my littermates , and but then I thought that some others might find this of interest too (either preop or post op - its never too late). I am going to hold a candlelight ceremony (in my hotel room at the Hawthorne? by the pool? we'll see)the night before our surgery to say goodbye to the way things were. I will bring pieces of clothing from home (perhaps an old pair of stretched out panties, a beautiful blouse stained on the bosom the first time out, a worn out pair of pants with the seams of the crotch all pilled and tearing)to either cut up in little pieces and/or burn in a little bonfire (on the balconey or bbq?). I will bring one or more of my sicko diet books (I have a library full of all of them) to tear up and/or burn; I will bring some fleshy unsightly photos which I hate and still have and maybe some paper and crayons and colored pencils and glue and a paint set and sparkles to color a new me and a new life. I may write a poem to read aloud. I invite my littermates to join me and either come with some of the things I've mentioned (bring scissors), or with whatever other symbolism their imagination and creativity bring foward.
