Guest guest
HERE IN IOWA, I CONTACTED MAW AND THEY SENT ME FORMS TO FILL OUT AND I SENT THEM BACK AND THEN THEY SENT THE DOCTORS FORMS TO VERIFY PATIENT INFORMATION. AFTER ALL THE FORMS WERE SENT BACK, THEY CONTACTED US AND CAM OUT TO THE HOUSE TO TALK TO STEPHANIE ABOUT HER WISH AND IF SHE HAD SEVERAL THINGS SHE MIGHT LIKE TO DO AND WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT. WE ARE CURRENTLY WAITING FOR OUR WISH. I TALKED TO OUR REPRESENTATIVE TWO WEEKS AGO AND HE WANTED TO KNOW HOW MUCH NOTICE WE NEEDED AND TO VERIFY IF WE WERE WANTING TO FLY OR DRIVE. SINCE MY HUSBAND ISN'T GOING, WE ARE GOING TO FLY. HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO TURN IN TO THE BOARD FOR US TO GO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. WE ARE SO EXCITED. THAT IS ALL I CAN TELL YOU. TINA W., MOTHER OF STEPHANIE, 17 YO WCF MAW Hey all, I was wondering if those of you who have gone through MAW could tell me what to expect. I am up to step two, where I havesent in 's medical info. What happens next? How long does this process usually take? The reason I ask is because she changes her wish list everyday, and if it is going to take over a year or more, then she needs to be thinking about things that she would want or do at that age. Anyone want to share their MAW stories?I would really love to hear them!! e

Guest guest
We were not asked to submit any medical information (other than diagnosis), but we were told the next step is approval by my son's cf doc and the MAW physician. We have been waiting 5 weeks for that and have not received word. How long should this take? I have not told my son that we have applied for this in case he is rejected, but we have talked to him in general about making a wish or things he would really like to do. Guest guest
The clinic doc finally approved my son's make a wish application yesterday. He must have sensed you all dogging him (lol). It's a bitter sweet victory. Steph
