Guest guest
<< who is a gastroenterologist, recommended that I do so. I have a long history of acid reflux and ulcers. He's been treating me for nearly 20 years. Thus, I am at higher risk for esophageal cancer and stomach cancer. >> " Ulcers, according to him, pose the major threat for the development of gastric cancer. He explained that since it is more likely that the MGB will cure the acid reflux than the RNY and Dr. R's method of hook up is well known to be used for ulcer patients, that my risk of developing gastic cancer could actually be reduced by the MGB over the RNY " I hadn't thought of it like that. I am GERD and ulcers and whould love for them to be GONE!! I haven't had a chance to talk to my doctor about it yet, but I have an appt for this Thrusday morning. I plan to go over the MGB info with him.. good and bad and see what he thinks. The only thing that worries me is getting rid of the acid reflux and trading it in for the Bile Reflux or cancer !!!! YUCK!! YUCK!! I have everything ready to send into Dr. R... just waiting to talk to my pcp and get 100% of my questions answered.... I don't want to have ANY doubts about this!! this is my life after all!! :<) cindy
