SCD and Interstitial Cystitis

Hi there, I am just beginning SCD, however I have Interstitial Cystitis (a

constant painful bladder condition)so I also can't eat anything acidic (even

apples and grapes). As far as fruit I can only tolerate pear right now because

of the IC (not because of my gastro problem IBS-C). So, because of the

Interstitial Cystitis, I am concerned about having a balanced SCD diet

eventually (I'm only at the intro stage now). I have been looking at all the

recipes on the web, but so many of them call for things like tomato juice or

things like that. In a couple of recipes I can see that the acidic food (like

tomatoes) can be left out, but many can't I don't think. So if anyone out there

is suffering from Interstitial Cystitis as well as gastro problems, could you

pleas share some meal ideas with me or just where to find specific IC friendly

recipes that are also SCD legal?

At this time, I don't think that high oxalate foods bother my IC, just anything

acidic or even mildly acidic (which cuts out a lot). If I had to worry about

high oxalates too I think I would starve at this point, because I also have to

avoid all nuts, carrots and bananas because of life long allergies (throat

swelling shut and hives reaction to all three).

Thanks,

Lora
