Guest guest
My 8-year-old son has been GFCFSFYF for 6 years, but his gut is still a mess. I recently added LOD, and I now want to implement the SCD. I'm looking for a low-oxalate flour that is also SCD " legal " . I've read that most nuts have high oxalates, but that chestnuts are " SCD legal " , and I'm wondering what the oxalate content of chestnuts is. I've tried Google and e-mailing several sellers, but I've had no luck. Do you know the oxalate content of chestnuts, or of another low-oxalate, SCD legal alternative? Thank you! LOD protocols and results were inconclusive and some oif the LOD advice conflicts with SCD. New research has revealed that SCD can address the issue in MOST cases and tracking cases of individuals trying to implement a combination often had very bad results. Normally we don't usually discuss other diets on this list but because it was implied that there was benefit in combining LOD with SCD, it bevame necessary for us to clarify our reserveations. A link providing details and recommendations will soon be added to the Pecanbread website. Carol F. SCD 6 years, celiac
Guest guest
Hi , I'm sorry but chestnut flour is not legal on SCD. We really don't recommend or advocate LOD here. We focus on SCD and try not to combine it with other diets, as we are just not qualified to counsel anyone on doing the two together. There may be other lists that do. I'm not personally familiar with what foods might be " low oxalate " that would serve as a flour substitute. Guest guest
Hi , I'm really sorry that you didn't get a better number of responses here. I really thought you would. Is squash a high or low oxalate food? I actually prefer the baked good that use squash to nuts, myself. Are there people here who do this diet without nuts who might be able to help ? Kind regards, KimS SCD 2003-2004 celiac family
