Guest guest
Hi! I think hit on pretty much everything in her response. All I can do is add my own experience. I applied for a job in a small hospital (as an RN) & was honest with the DON about my CP. It was up to her to take a chance on me, which she did. I worked for about 5 weeks before I started another flare up. I called in sick once, then the next day, I called her & told her that it's not fair to my co-workers for me to be such an unrliable source. She wanted me to stay & try, b/c she was happy with my work so far, but it was my decision. In my case, it was the best decision b/c I continued to get worse. So what should you do? Only you can answer that. Maybe give it a try? I don't know how sick you are, but maybe you will be able to continue working. And maybe you can tell them honestly what's wrong, but if you're symtoms aren't really bad, you could be an asset to them. I know that this illness made me much more compassionate to my patients. That's definately a good thing in the nursing profession. I don't know if this helps any or just confuses you more. Whatever you decide, I will be praying for the best for you.
