Guest guest
Hi everyone, Now that we are back to being more normal around here I will step up and introduce myself and tell you what happy task I have taken on! First let me say I have been on the post-op list faithfully since day one. I left this list thinking I needed support and no one would need me on this list anyway! WRONG!! Regardless of where we are in the process, we NEED each other! Especially now! So... My name is Rosemary Locklear, I had my MGB on 7/24/00. I am a slow loser, but a happy one! I started out at 347 and last weigh in was at 316. Of course I should state I only weigh at my PCP, due to the inability of my scales to weigh me accurately! I can gain or lose 20 pounds just by getting off and getting back on! I wouldn't mind if they would just stay off!!!!!!! Anyway my last official weigh in was 9/5 so maybe I'm not a slow loser, I just don't know it yet! **smile** I measured every part of my body that I could reach (lol, lol) the night before surgery. On my 2nd month anniversary I had lost a total of 22 inches (and that's only counting each arm, and leg once) and 7 3/4 of those were from my waist!! I have not had acid reflux since the day of surgery but experienced it daily along with heartburn prior to surgery, I have had one headache (stress related, I have a teenager!) since the day of surgery (I had them daily prior to surgery), I had night sweats prior to surgery and have not experienced one episode since surgery (I have no idea what this has to do with the surgery, but it was a plus for me!) I no longer have to **roll** out of bed due to back pain, and I've started riding my bike a mile a day. I have the Billy Blank tapes but just haven't got motivated to sweat like that yet! (lol, lol) I can eat anything I want to with the exception of potatoes! Don't ask me why, but EVERY time I eat them I get a tummy ache. Doesn't matter how I fix them! (I think it's punishment from before surgery, they were responsible for at least a hundred pounds of my excess weight! LOL) Anyway, I've learned to live without them. (Good thing huh!) Ok enough about me, if you want to know more (yeah right!) feel free to contact me. I would be honored to be a contact for any pre-op needing contacts. I was there once, and remember it well! rosemary locklear @ carolina. net (minus the spaces) Now on to my happy task! Someone on the post op list (I'm old, can't remember who ( ) made a comparison of the total pounds lost to Mcs (everyone over there still remembers the days of Big Mac being a staple food, hee,hee **grin**) Anyway I decided it would be fun to try and find out how many pounds have been lost, so I set up an excel spread sheet (see I'm not only fat, I'm smart! lol ) to keep a running tally. In just one day I already have a tally of .....drum roll.............2,272.5 pounds of ugly fat flushed down the toilet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, if I haven't heard from any post ops with some pounds to add please contact me! And any of the pre-ops, soon as you have a pound to add, let me know! We are striving towards that million pound mark! Ok, I'm done now, sorry it's so long! Rosemary
