Guest guest
Hello everyone, I wish you all a good evening. Some of us talked recently about pains in feet etc. I saw my GP to- day and this is his view....and he seems quite sure at this stage. (a) I have peripheral neuropathy, possibly linked to years of malabsorption. I'm having blood tests tomorrow for B12 etc. etc. I may need injections. ( matatarsalgia (sp?) ....or.....to you and me..... " sore feet " !!!! He laughed when he told me but it is a recognised syndrome and he found the exact spot under my foot to press and make me yelp with pain. The pain is in the bones themselves as the name implies. He says this condition responds well to physio which he's arranging for me as well. He thinks it could have developed as a result of the peripheral neuropathy because I probably try to compensate for the discomfort and irritation caused by the neuropathy by moving my feet a lot in ways which don't distribute the weight properly or I walk in a slightly distorted way when the neuropathy is bad. I think he is dead right. Anyway, I can but wait and see what happens next. I also had results of my GTT. Still impaired glucose tolerance, slightly worse than last time, but still no diabetes as such. Well, that's my up-date! Hope you all experience some good pain-free time, With good wishes, Fliss (UK)
