HELP! Any luck getting insurance: Health Plan of Nevada to help cover helmet?

Hello everybody,

My son was in a DOC Band from 3/9/09 - 6/9/09 but he is having some regression

issues and may need another helmet. I was told by our clinician that they have

never had a grant pay twice for a child to be banded, but on their website it

says that a certain amount of money is awarded and can keep paying for

expenses...I wonder if it's just because nobody has pushed the issue. I've been

looking at my son's exit photos and they do look good, but when I compare him

now to those photos his head has gotten flat again on the left where he favors

it, his right eye is still a little narrow and his ears are still misaligned.

The helmet helped his growth so much while in it I think another will complete

his round headshape, but trying to get it is becoming a nightmare. Our

pediatrician isn't much help so I'm thinking of getting a second

opinion...anybody have any ideas? Our clinician says she doesn't suggest a

second band but she didn't do his exit and is now saying that I'll have to pay

$300 to get more DSI images done on top of the cost of another helmet... I'm

desperate now, he's already 14 months old and doesn't have much time left until

he hits 18 months, when they say helmets are least effective. PLEASE HELP!
