Hi All,

Sorry, but I just need to vent or I'm going to explode (what a mess). We had

to go up to BIG hospital last friday due to Cory having pain that started in

diaphram area and moved around to back then up front to sternum and stayed.

This is how his reaction to sulfur based antibiotics started in Florida so I

was concerned about reaction to IV antibiotics he is currently on. He also is

running low grade fever off and on but not steady. Doctors did not know for

sure what this could be but put him on prednisorne for possible inflamation of

lining of lungs. They also extended his IV antibiotics for another week. We

got home and got another delivery of meds that evening which we checked and

hooked up. Next day they ran dry before proper time so I called. Guess what!!!

Meds were not correct. They had doubled concentration (disolved meds in 100

ml instead of 250 ml) We had to make another trip to hospital to get this

fixed. The nurse told me that I should have double checked to make sure. I

DID!!!!! The sticker on the meds stated it was 250 ml. They had put the right

sticker on the wrong bag. Cory ended up spending next day on the toilet and

losing weight. He is OK but could have been a disaster.

I am soooo tired of medical system that tries to make parents/patients

responsible to their errors. Well, thanx for letting me vent. We are off to

BIG

hospital again to hopefully get this pic line removed. Cory is tired of being

tethered.

Edi, mother to Cory 16 w/cf and 15 w/cf
