Guest guest
Hi, I had posted a message a few weeks ago about my newborn daughter Gwen. She was born with flattening on her forehead rather than flattening on the back or side of her head. Her doctor ran a chromosome blood test just to make sure this, and the fact that her hands and ears are a bit small weren't due to some chromosome problem, but the good news is that test came back completely normal! For that we are relieved though I am upset she was born with plagio...especially on the front of her head as I've heard this is harder to correct. Can't really do repositioning to correct it, but I've been making sure to repo her so no more flat spots appear. She has a very soft head as she was also born with more open sutures than normal. I'm thinking around 4 months or so to take her to the specialist my son went to, to evaluate for a helmet. But hoping with time there will be some correction. Her nose was completey smooshed on one side at birth and that has already corrected! My son who is now 16 months was born with right tort and plagio and we've been through the helmet before..I'm just so frustrated we may have to go through this again, however so relieved she is otherwise healthy! Well that's enough venting for now, if anyone else has had a child with front head flattening I'd love to hear from you!!
