Guest guest
Hello Holly, Sorry you have panc probs but glad you found the group. It means a tremendous amount to me. I've known for about 15 months that I have CP (hereditary) and have had it all my life. I may well be having a total pancreatectomy in a year or two. i have been asking myself exactly the question you asked. I saw the consultant to-day and he ordered an EUS. Had it been an ERCP he recommended, I would have been more worried. I had one 16 years ago in 1988. I had a very unpleasant pancreatitis attack which took a few days to abate. It was one of the worst attacks I've ever had. I certainly would not have wanted to risk triggering off a CP " pattern " as it were. However, usually the effects are not too long-lived, if I understand correctly. Of course, there may be exeptions. I do hope your symptoms are soon relieved Holly. At least you now have people to talk to who have been through similar experiences. (BTW, my ERCP and CT scan in 1988 were inconclusive, despite the fact that I was so ill at the time. They didn't show any damage at that time. That's how it happens that I was diagnosed only in 2003 when CT scan finally showed damage etc.) Take care holly and keep in touch. With good wishes, Fliss (UK)
