Guest guest
I'm looking into starting some cooked and deseeded berries and while reading through old posts someone said that a food mill works for deseeding. I just don't know what a food mill is. Thanks! Leah - mom of 3 1/2 ASD, SCD since July

Often used to remove the seeds from cooked tomatoes. Carol F. SCD 6 years
Guest guest
Let's see if I can explain this. It has a " strainer " type plate that can be place in it. Usually, the food mill will come with a couple of plates with different sized holes. It has a crank handle that you turn. It pushes the food through the strainer, pureeing it as it goes, and leaves pealings and seeds behind. You can get one at a local kitchen type store or on line. I ordered one from Amazon last month. When I was researching my purchase, it appeared that they run about $60 and up.
