Guest guest
This is a copy of an email that I sent to Patti. Two weeks ago I was feeling really down and contemplating my decision to start SCD. I sent out a desperate plea to stay sane. I am not DESPERATE anymore! Ask me if it's the diet, Ill tell you ABSOLUTELY!!!! Two weeks ago my son was, irritable, miserable, not eating well getting marginal reports from Early childhoodis pre k class. Now he is a happier, more focused(the doc did a test with juggling and Dylan attended the whole thing!)This was a kid they told me and I quote " Has the shortest attention span of 1000 kids they tested in district " He even ate baked fish with broccoli...BROCCOLI!!! " My son has/had severe food issues with textures and temps. He has been eating a whole new variety of foods that I initially swore to Patti he wouldn't eat.Did I mention he has only been grain free for 6 weeks, and SCD for 4? If you ask me was this the right thing to do,YES!!!I am not a seasoned expert, but any new folks who haave questions abou twhat I did, mistakes etc...PLEASE email me! Rinehart PROUD mom of Dylan age 4 ASD. These Results might not be typical.....BUT ILL TAKE THEM!!! Patti, I have just gotten back from Dylans DAN appt. He was a champ. We saw a new Doc today..really nice. He was very open to SCD,very much on board...refuted the " bad publicity " in regards to kidney issues....he actually told me the same thing you did...as long as fruits, veggies and some sugar(HONEY)is being used, the body will not have ill effects. Its when people go whole hog and drop all fruits (yeast) that some kids get into trouble. MAN YOU ARE GOOD!!!! D went into the appointment like a champ, played ball with the doc(BY THE WAY DYLAN HATES DOCTORS!!!Doctor appointments were like nightmares every time ),he even took his stethoscope and put into his own ears and listened to all of our hearts, that was after he said " Can I have skessiscope? " We all nearly fell over! This doc was about 6'2,very big and a little intimidating,At the end of the appointment He asked Dylan for a hug-Dylan HAPPILY COMPLIED AND SAID BYE BYE, SEE YOU SOON!!!! Hows that for an inspirational story? Two weeks ago, I sent out a desperate plea for help which you answered. Now I can say, I know when the good stuff starts! PS. Guest guest
Thank you for posting this. I needed to hear it today. I've been feeling very overwhelmed and questioning why I signed up for this especially after getting a call from my dd's teacher about how bad she's doing. It gives me hope and the strength to hang in a little longer. > This is a copy of an email that I sent to Patti. Two weeks ago I was feeling > really down and contemplating my decision to start SCD.
