Worrying

Years ago my husband and I went to counceling. He was one of those guys who

just didn't enjoy life much...Not the kids, not me, not anything. He always

planned for the worst. If we went on any vacation or whatever if we got home

it was a good trip. He always said No to the kids because he was so afraid

something might happen to them.

Anyway the counceler asked him if he was a worrier...he said absolutely! For

me it was like a lighting bolt hit me...for some reason it all made sense.

She said to ask yourself, while you worry, what can I do about it right now?

Usually nothing. If its something you can take care of later, write it down

and put it in your pocket. When you take the note out you'll realize you

still can't do anything about it.

It changed his life...and our marriage...Love, Sue M

Sunshine, you are so right about worrying. I decided

a long time ago not to worry about things I can't do

anything about. I do worry, but I can now put it on

the back burner. It's so much less stressful! The

same techniques that help with pain - i.e. exercise,

relaxation, prayer, meditation can also help with

worry. Guilt is another good thing to get rid of!!!

Take care, everyone, Love Liz
