Hello all, I was reading earlier posts on skin sores. Now I would like to add some more skin disorder info.

About 7 years ago I noticed a small mark on my left calf area, this started getting larger and larger. After a few months of it growing and not getting any smaller I went to my GP and he biopsied it. Come to find out it is "granuloma annular." (a begnign dermatosis. usually occurs as an idiopathic condition (Gee where else have we heard this??LOL!!!) No known cause and no known cure. After reading the recent posts and after checking into Lupus lesions in the past month or so, I started searching the net again on granuloma annular and low and behold I fould that it often occurs in patients having immunodeficiencies.

Anyone else ever had a granuloma annular growth? Just curious.

PS,

My granuloma annular is just now starting to dissipate! The literature my GP read on it said that it may last up to 10 years! Well, 7 years so far for me. Its biggest stage, it measured in at 2" x 2 1/2"

This is very interesting. About 23-24 years ago I found three areas on the calfs

of my legs. They were somewhat round and approx. 1/4 inch and close to 1/2 inch

in size. They were light brown and looked like giant freckles. I went to the

doctor and asked what they could be and I was told they were nothing more than

age spots. Age spots? I was only 30 at the time. Now I'm not much of a sun

person..never had and God knows with all the medication I'm on now I would'nt

last ten minutes in the sun. However, I did notice these spots would get darker

back then when I would get out in the sun more.

I still have these spots and they are not smooth but sorta rough. Do you thing

this is the same thing the person below is talking about??? I'm getting the age

spots on my hands now and the marks on my calfs are nothing like them.
