Where is the pain coming from if you have no pancreas ??? If ever anyone finds this answer out please by all means let me know. My son Brandan had a TP/ICT in 2002 although his quality of life has greatly improved he does live with what some call " Residual pain " or even has been called " Phanthom pain " we continue as we have to take things " ONEDAY " at a time in hopes of finding this and other answers to a disease that seems pretty unknown as far as I am concerned and from what I have learned. I am always willing to learn more for he will always live with the effects of this disease. By all means if there are any specialist in the Boston area that are of help please let me know. At times I feel as frustrating and unknown as PAINcreatitis was, it can be just as frustrating and unknown territory following the PAINcreatectomy. But if you ask us again if we would of done the surgery, we would of but alot sooner had we been allowed too. I was told that of all who have the TP 50% have no pain 40% have residual pain and 10% have no change in pain. BUT it all depends on the person and how many surgerys and procedures where done previously. But as I said Brandans quality of life has greatly improved and he is not diabetic. I just wanted you to know what I knew in regards to the no pancreas no pain question. And again if you find out anything please by all means let me know.. : ) As always keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers...Keep smiling (cuz sometimes its all one can do!)
