Guest guest
Hi all: thought I should send the below link to you. It is information on a couple of different models of breast cancer risk assessment. They are used primarily to determine if you are at a high enough elevated risk that you should consider taking tamoxifen as a preventive drug. Please remember though, even if you get a low score, there is only one true risk factor: BEING FEMALE. That's right, most of us that get breast cancer have NONE of the normal risk factors, especially family history. So, if you are over 40, get your mammograms at least every other year, preferably every year. And if you are over 50, male or female, get a colonoscopy too! They aren't that big a deal and will actually PREVENT colon cancer by removing polyps before they " turn bad. " Here's the breast cancer risk site: http://www.intouchlive.com/home/frames.htm?http://www.intouchlive.com/cancergene\ tics/gail.htm & 3 __________________________________________________
