I found your question interesting and along the lines of new information I

recently picked up. I wasn't sure if you had seen my post regarding the

inactivation of lipase by a gastric pH of greater than four? It explained an

additional reason why meds like Prilosec are administered to persons with

pancreatitis

and others receiving digestive enzymes. Previously many persons were on

Omeprazole for acid reflux. Seeing your question, reinforces the literature that

it

does more than prevent indigestion, it maintains the gastric pH at or above

4.0 so that the digestive enzymes, Lipase, in particular, can be absorbed

without being deactivated.

Sometimes I feel like I am so slow in learning things, but better later than

never.
