Guest guest
Hi Fred: I lived in Haverford, PA during my teenage years, graduated from Harriton High School. My brother still lives in Bryn Mawr. I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time. I now live in Ocean City, land, but I have been to see Dr. Kowalski at the Univ. of PA. He was highly recommended, however, since my appointment last November, he has been very difficult to have further contact. I'm not sure if you can make it into downtown Philly, but he might be worth a shot. From there he might be able to refer you to a pain doctor. I have suffered with cp and ap for about three years now. I have daily pain, with recurrent bouts of acute pain. The worse thing though is how unpredictable it can be. I had been having a couple of good days, by good days meaning just taking my normal amount of daily pain medicine (oxycontin/actiq), and eating normally. Then last night feeling great, snacked on some low fat string cheese, salsa and wheat crackers, and within minutes was bent over in pain, vomiting, sweating...the whole gamut. I eat that kind of snack all the time. My husband and I had plans to have his mother and sister over to show off our new townhouse and go to dinner. Guess what I did? Yep, the rest of the night in bed. It sucks how sometimes it just comes from nowhere, and 180 degrees from how good I felt just a half hour before. Anyway, hope some of this information helps. Hang in there...you are not alone. HUGS... Robin
