Outgrowing band red spot

I think if there is still foam to shave down he'll be able to wear it a bit longer...hopefully, till the second band is ready. If I remember correctly, my son's DOC Band was shaved in a couple of places all the way down to the shell -- and that was for the last week he was wearing it. They put a little piece of moleskin over the edge of the plastic (where there was no more foam) so it wouldn't irritate his skin. If they shave down to the shell and he's still red - then sounds like you'd have to wait on band #2. I wouldn't worry too much if he does end up being out of the band for 2 weeks. He'll be OK. My son started his first DOC Band at 5 1/2 months and graduated at 7 months. At that point, we didn't plan to continue with a second helmet. However, after several weeks of worrying about stopping too soon, we decided to do a second band. There was an 8 week gap between the bands -- and he was 9 months old when he finally got in band #2. We still saw lots of good change in those first weeks in band #2, even at 9 months. You're little guy is so young...and like you said, growing well. I bet even if he does have to go without a band for 2 weeks, he'll still be growing like a weed when he gets in it. My son was still sleeping only on his back during that 8 week period without a band -- which made me cringe. I do think we experienced some regression during those 8 weeks -- but whatever regression took place then is certainly gone now. We've been in band #2 for almost 9 weeks and everything is looking really good. I wouldn't think that you'd see anything like that in 2 short weeks - in the event the new band isn't ready.

Hope that helps and hope the timing on band #2 works out just right. If you do end up with some time between bands, get in as much snuggling as you can with his sweet little noggin! :-)
