Guest guest
doc - For me, when my one small duct opening gets " irritated " or for some other (unknown) reason constricts and closes, there is pressure on the duct that continues through the length of the pancreas. It therefore starts " leaking " the pancreatic juices (amylase and lipase). Those strong enzymes begin to " irritate " and destroy the pancreas causing the extreme pain. This explanation is certainly in " layman's " terms and compiled from the information I have gathered from drs. and my own research - NOT medical fact.
