Is it possible to make dry curd cottage cheese?

I know cottage cheese is one of the easiest cheeses to make. Is the

dry curd cottage cheese talked about so much in BTVC the same as

homemade cottage cheese? It's not something I think I will be able to

find easily if at all where I am, but I would be willing to make it.
