Guest guest
Hi - my name is and my baby was fitted with the starband at 5.5 months - what a diff!!! I am so so so relieved and happy that we banded. She got the helmet off at 14.5 months - seemed an eternity!! Now she is about to turn 3 - looks awesome - all assymetry is gone!!! Head is super duper - face fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Recently I saw a child about my baby's age - maybe a tad bit younger - she had OBVIOUS plagio - I could readily see the flatness. I don't know about doc band - BUT BAND!!!! My daughter also had/has torticollis - resolved - but we STILL STRETCH and watch it. Check for tort - needs PT! Good luck, L newly diagnosed--please help My 6 month old son was just diagnosed with plagiocephaly. He has asymmetry of his head and some on his face (although very mild). Our pediatrician sent us to Cranial Technologies who evaluated him and recommended a Doc Band. My question is how does one decide which kind of helmet is the best, or which company to use for the treatment. I am also wondering if people were followed by doctors who are specialists, and if so, who--(in Los Angeles.) Lastly, can anyone tell me if there are any risks or negatives to the helmet (is it always effective
Guest guest
we are going to have my 6 month old son (born 2 months early) fitted for a doc band at cranial technologies today. Has anyone been to the Cranial Technologies in Pasadena? If so, who was your orthotist and what was your experience like, was it successful? I also want to know if members in general went straight from an eval by a pediatrician to an orthotist, or if members first had their children evaluated by a specialist for plagio before getting the helmet made. Our pediatrician referred us to CT, but never referred us to a specialist....I am concerned about that. I have made appointments with specialists on my own, but can't get in right away, so I am likely going to get the helmet made first (any thoughts will be helpful), as I understand time is of the essence....I welcome any feedback please!! Thanks, Kim
