Guest guest
So, took my five-month-old son in this week to be evaluated for some mild flatness I noticed on this back/side of his head. Do I go ahead with the Doc Band? Pros and Cons? The flatness really is mild...to be honest, most people probably wouldn't notice. But, it bothers me - as his mother. Feel like we need to fix this if we can... Ever since he was born, he preferred one side over the other (so every time he was laying down, he'd be on that particular side.) And, yes, we've tried neck muscle exercises. And he doesn't tend to turn to that side as often... Please tell me your thoughts! My poor baby... Guest guest
My daughter had flatness on her right side so we started putting her on her left. That actually made her plagio worse because the back of her head started coming to a point. My daughter went into a band at 3 1/2 months old. We are so glad we did. Her head is rounding out beautifully. I would get the band if they recommended it at the evaluation. The sooner you start the better it is for your son. The biggest con is the cost, a lot of insurance wont cover the full amount of the band. Guest guest
I understand your feelings. My daughter has mild plagio (6mm) but we choose to band anyway. Normal is 0-2mm, and since it was noticeable, even slightly, we felt that this was an issue to be addressed. Correcting plagio with banded is such a imte sensitive issue, it never hurts to get an opnion. I havd had two experiences with CT and the DOC band. My son (in 2005) was banded and went from measurements of 16mm to 2mm, and my daughter is currently being treated. We have had wonderful experiences and results. Good Luck. > > So, took my five-month-old son in this week to be evaluated for some mild flatness I noticed on this back/side of his head. Do I go ahead with the Doc Band?
