Guest guest
We left home just after 6am for her admission at 7am. First thing to worry over was the bed situation. Apparently there are no other cf kids in the ward, except those ones in the side rooms. Eilish would then be 'okay' to go into a 4 bed bay with non infectious kids. Apparently if any other cfers with PA etc. come in they will put her in a side room. This is totally against what we have always done. and I fought all morning with the registrar, cf co-coordinator etc. Then at 12.30 p.m. we were still waiting for her PICC line to be put in. About 12.45 the god awful registrar came in to tell me the radiography machine used for it had broken down. They were sending her home and to come back Thursday. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I stormed out of there and cried all the way home. It was everything on top of each other. Do they think we have nothing better to do than sit there for 5 hours for nothing. So is asking his work if he can have Thursday off to take her as I just don't want to take her again. The cf registrar phoned me a short time ago to tell me that they will not put Eilish at risk and as soon as anyone with any PA etc. come in she will be moved. The thing is she will love it as for the first time she will have people to play with, but how on earth will we get any sleep let alone privacy. Then when poor stays it will probably be with other mothers in the room, so they will all feel uncomfortable. I just hate this crap. So now I am waiting to enrol to up date my CPR certificate before I can do home IV's. You have to have a current certificate to be able to do that here. Mine has expired. I feel so totally drained all I want to do is sleep. is taking us out to dinner tonight. Sorry to moan but it has been a very awful day.
