Guest guest
Like many of you, my son is now in a class where a child has severe nut allergies and it has been a challenge (though not impossible) to send lunches, treats, and snacks. At the moment I have a batch of Herb's Bean Pancakes (BTVC), made with an extra egg and sauerkraut juice to thin (instead of the yoghurt) in my dehydrator to see if they make decent crackers. If so, woo, hoo, they are going to school. Anyway, I was online trying to find out what dehydrator temperature would be best (I still don't know) and I found a hiker's site that tells how to make a bean cracker using 2 cups of cooked beans and 1 cup of salsa. I have not made them, but they caught my eye because people are always looking for egg-free crackers. I hesitate to post the link because he talks about all kinds of legal AND illegal beans. But with legal ingredients, it just might work! If you want to find it, the recipe is called " Dehydrator Bean Crackers " and the group is the American Long Distance Hiking Association. , mom to
