" Im thinking to myself am I hearing things correctly, I could not believe it him when I heard those words. Dear , it is so good to hear from you again. Were you shocked when Dr. Sutherland told you that you had no choice? I knew he would tell you that since you have attacks all of the time and you don't have very much pancreas left. Did you like him? I love him. I think he is the kindest Dr. I have ever met. Did he say anything about islets since you have had a previous surgery? I think that he knows that with your sick pancreas it needs to be removed sooner rather than later. How long did you talk with him? Did he explain anything to you? Thinking about you having the surgery brings back memories of the time I was preparing to have surgery. I remember getting all of my records from the hospital to send to MN. I remember working with my insurance trying to get them to approve me. At the time I had my surgery they said that the surgery was experimental but I appealed and then they approved the surgery for me. Now days so many doctors and hospitals know about the surgery I would think that the insurance companies would know that it isn't experimental anymore. I really don't think you will have any trouble. Finding your grandmothers favorite flowers was wonderful. I know that gave you a good feeling. Did you fly with Angel Flight? I have never flown. I am afraid to fly. Everyone tells me that I am crazy but I just can't do it. I have dreams I am flying and I don't like those dreams. My dreams are probably much worse than actually flying. I am sorry that your blood sugar dropped while in flight. It was a good thing that you were close to landing. , you are so very welcome. If I can do anything for you please let me know. People who had the surgery before I had it helped me. We call ourselves Angels. When you have been given a wonderful gift as we have we must help others. Not to make their decisions but to help them with information and support. When my insurance company denied my surgery my friends who had already had the surgery each wrote a letter to my case worker and explained all about the surgery and how it changed their life for the better. They explained to the ins. co. that the surgery wasn't experimental. They saved my life and I will be eternally grateful and love them forever. I sent you an e-mail called Diabetic Station. Several times this month they will be chatting about islets. I don't know if Dr. Sutherland will be chatting or not but even still it will be very interesting. There are other topics for other nights that are also interesting. Tomorrow night is the first one. I hope to see you there. Take care and know that I am praying for you. You are always in my thoughts. You are very special to me. I don't like it at all when young people suffer. I love you and I am here for you. Take care.
