Guest guest
I haven't posted since I left for my trip to Indiana University Hospital. I met with Dr. Lehman and he scheduled an ERCP for the next morning. I had the ERCP and they cut the pancreatic sphincter because of high pressure and recut my previous biliary sphincterotomy. I did get pancreatitis from the procedure and was hospitalized for a couple of days. I got home a week ago on saturday. I was starting to feel better and weaned off the pain meds. Only this past friday I awoke at 2 am with another attack. I took pain meds. for the 1 1/2 hours and then finally passed out. I am starting to feel just like I did before the ERCP. I thought that I would at least get a month or so of relief before the attacks started in again. I feel very discouraged. They also discovered that I have villious atrophy in the jejunum of the small intestine. They say I have celiac disease. I have changed my diet to products that contain No-Wheat. I called the Hospital today to get the results from biopsies that were taken during the ERCP. I was told that the doctor would call me at home when he got to it. Of course, in the meantime I am constantly thinking of everything. I hate playing the waiting game for test results. I also wanted to ask anyone who has had sphincterotomies in the past, -- Do you ever get these sudden thumps, like a big " boom " feeling right where the ribs split?? I started to get them sporadically after my first sphincterotomy last year. Since my latest sphincterotomy, I get these " booms " throughout the day. It sort of feels like a big jolt. Sorry it is hard to explain, I was just courious if anyone else experienced this. Thanks for listening to me rant on. I just felt the need to vent alittle and I knew that this was the perfect place to do it, and not be judged. Hope everyone has a good day.
