Guest guest
> > When I was a child and occasionally ill with the flu or nausea, our old-school pediatrician had a four-day diet for reintroducing foods, very similar to SCD but with some disaccharide sugar. I do recall that the first thing one was to take by mouth was small sips, as tolerated, of water and carbonated drinks, then weak teas and broth. Since you don't tolerate plain water, perhaps carbonation would be tolerated?Although the gingerale and Seven-Up we used (in the pre-corn-syrup Dark Ages when I was a child) were off-diet, there are legal carbonated waters and club sodas that could be used plain or to make your own carbonated drink. Or there are some carbonated fruit drinks and honey-sweetened ginger drinks available commercially if you confirmed to your own satisfaction that these contained no illegal ingredients. Or you could always make your own, the pecanbread way (sigh.) > Lorilyn Lorilyn Sorry but carbonated fruit drinks and honey-sweetened ginger drinks available commercially are not allowed on SCD. I do as you hane mentioned, make my own by adding fruit juice to perrier and adding one saccharine tablet (Hermasetas). Carol F.
