Guest guest
Hello, We have been doing the SCD for 25 days now. We started it for myself and our 3 year old ASD son, but decided it would be easier, and perhaps beneficial, if the entire family went on it. I was wondering if anyone has had an active child go to crazy hyperactive? My 4 year old son did this during die-off the first 2 days. He was up until 3 a.m. at least, sitting on his bed yakking a mile a minute to nobody. Since then he's been pretty much back to normal. The past week though has been psychotic! I'm about to just put a sign saying " free to good home " and set him out on the sidewalk! We're pretty sure that he has ADHD, but never had him diagnosed (really no reason to, since we won't drug our children). The only thing that gets us through the day, is giving him some tea when he's at his worst. (From what we've read, caffeine stimulates the brain the same way ritalin does, actually calming an ADHD child.) He does well when we can get him to drink it. His voice lowers to a normal tone instead of yelling everything, he'll sit still and concentrate, etc. He doesn't mean to misbehave, it's like he's just lost all self-control. Has anyone else gone through this? Is it maybe another (but longer more drawn out) die off? Should we go back to the intro diet? I'd REALLY appreciate any help/advice. Thanks!
