Advice on following up with CT

Hi,

As everyone has probably read, we tried to reband with CT in southern CA

and they said they couldn't make a band. I'm extremely upset,

especially since at first they said they would. After they said they

would band, I was thinking there was at least some hope, and now it

feels like there is none. CT confirmed 's mild plagio, said his

head is pushed forward, and noted facial asymmetry. Then they did

nothing to help. ly, after following this board, I am skeptical

that they cannot make an effective band, even if the improvement is very

small. The people who decided they couldn't band went by his pictures

and measurements, which were slightly lower than the Starband

scanner's. (According to the scanner 's asymmetry is around 6mm,

and they measured 5mm.) It seems they would at least need the imaging

or to look at to make this final decision. We would be happy to

bring back in.

Honestly, to me this seems like poor business practice to say they would

band and then not. Further, if they were going to refuse to band, I did

not need to hear about 's asymmetries and they could have kept the

report. After all this, I feel that it is the moral thing for CT to

make an extra effort to help us with a band.

Does anyone have any advice on following up with CT? Who would you

contact? Is there any branch of CT that is more open to banding a

mild, older baby? What I would like is for one of their more technical

clinicians to meet with us, reexamine , and honestly work with us to

try and fit him. If they still cannot, then I understand.

Thanks in advance,

Kathy, mom to , 16 months, 4 months in Starband

Hi-

Have you posted any pictures of your son? If not, would you be willing to so we

can take a look? My guess is that his asymmetry is too mild, or there is

something about his head shape, that will not allow for a proper fit of the

band. If there is not a certain amount of asym, they can't get good holding

points to make the band effective. If it's not going to be effective, they won't

make the band, otherwise you'd be shelling out 3600 bucks for nothing. I

actually think it's a good business practice because people have claimed that CT

is just out to get our money, but this is a perfect example of how they don't

just want the money, or they would have just made the band in the first place.

All the clinics answer to the corporate office in Phoenix. Maybe you could pay

out of pocket to get a DSi scan done and have them send it to corporate to get

their opinion and a better explanation as to why they can't make it. That would

probably be your best bet.

Please keep us posted. I'd be interested to know the reasoning as well.
