Anyone painted while chelating a child? I used the low-VOC line from . If you're doing a big area I'd consider taking the child somewhere else for a day or two -- the BM wasn't smelly but still.... Guest guest
If you would want something a bit textured, my husband and I saw something on HGTV the other night ( " Gotta Have it " I think was the program) and they had this mixture made out of mud, etc that is enviornmentally friendly(non toxic). You slather it on the walls like putty and can mix all sorts of colors into it, add design, etc. It dries firm-nothing to chip off or anything. It was pretty cool and something we are going to look further into before redoing our livingroom. --- In , " lanellici " <lanellici@a...> wrote: > > > > > > Anyone have any suggestions for environmentally friendly paint for > > interior of house? Guest guest
I think I saw the same show -- but wasn't it clay?? I guess clay, mud... whatever... but it seems it was the same show because they showed (as you said) how you can mix colors together, make patterns in it, etc. Anyway, good luck. - in Florida Re: Paint If you would want something a bit textured, my husband and I saw something on HGTV the other night ( " Gotta Have it " I think was the program) and they had this mixture made out of mud, etc that is enviornmentally friendly(non toxic). Guest guest
I've heard that setting out a bowl of apple cider vinegar helps absorb some of the fumes from painting... S S ___,,,^.~.^,,,___ Taking a guess here, but I think she means
Volatile Organic Compounds. These are the high vapor pressure
things in the vehicle fluid of the paint that outgas while it's
drying, i.e., the nasty stuff you smell in a freshly painted room.
Unfortunately, outgassing of VOC's doesn't stop 100% after the
paint dries. It reduces greatly, but some outgassing of volatiles
will continue for a long time following an exponenial curve
that asymptotically approaches zero. After a couple weeks
it's probably safe to assume it is zero for all practical intents
and purposes. ---Meow.

[ ] Re: paint

what are VOCs??

can paint
fumes really mess up my kid? i kept him away from his room
> (just the inside of the closet had to be painted/sealed because
of pet
> odors from previous tenants) but his dad somehow put him in
there like
> an idiot and all day my son has been acting like he's on crack.
it's
> really scaring me
_______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
Any ideas for paint brands/types that are non-toxic/not smelly and work well on the bands for decoration? Thanks!
Guest guest
I also found that the only top coat that has really worked to seal it without peeling off every 10 seconds is Mod Podge Jody
