Guest guest
Yes..... all normal. Very common. Do epsom salts baths and activated charcoal supps to help him deal with the toxins. This is only temporary. Patti A little scared OK, I am just a little concerned. My ASD son who has been gc/cf for 4 years has been on the SCD for 2 days. He is super stimmy. He says (actually he types) that his head feels funny. At times he is listless and this morning I thought he felt a little warm. Is this normal? die- off? Thanks! le
Guest guest
Sounds normal to me. My sons stimming reduced after the first couple of weeks. He always feels a little warm, but feeling extra warm went down after a few days. Just the body trying to detox and the bad bugs making a last ditch effort to cause problems. As far as his head feeling funny (mine are too little to mention that), I do know that my husband and I felt a little fuzzy headed and had trouble focusing during die-off. Guest guest
Absolutely. Many parents see an increase in stimming and other behavioral issues during die-off. It's good that he can express to you that his head feels funny. That way, you know that he is experiencing die-off. Just reassure him that he's going to be feeling better in a few days. Can you give him an epson salt bath or activated charcoal if you haven't already done so? Just tell him that it will help him feel a bit better. Guest guest
Yes, this is all very normal during the early stages of the diet. I remember that I got very, very nauseated and had a horrible headache. This is a reaction to the toxins being released from the body. My two boys got very tired but also stimmed quite a bit more initially. What helps is hot soaks in baths with epsom salts and giving activated charcoal capsules one hour before and after meals. This all helps to absorb the toxins that the body is releasing. Dana Garrett and Celiac, Developmental Delays SCD 5 months gr8readers wrote: OK, I am just a little concerned.
