Hello everyone, I have just been for a pilates class;

in case you are not familiar with this it is an

exercise discipline developed in 1920's Germany, I

asked my rheumy if it was a good thing, and he said

excellent, go for it. I was a bit nervous because I

have been having some problems. I explained it all,

and she started me off gently. You use a piece of

equipment called a Reformer (!) which looks like an

old fashioned instrument of torture, i.e. a rack.

However it is nearly all stretching, with emphasis on

your abdomen. I found it quite difficult, and painful

at times. Most of the pain was merely unused muscles.

However after an hour (which flew by) I felt

energised, relaxed throughout my body, and about two

inches taller!!!

It is something I have wanted to try for ages, but you

really have to have a trainer at least to start with;

but I am now throughly addicted!! She said I will

have some stiff parts later which is normal after

exercise, but none of the currently painful bits hurt

more, actually, I am feeling less pain. Isn't that

great?

If anyone else has considered this I totally recomend

it. (Mind you, tomorrow I may have changed my

mind!!!!)

Hopefully stay pain free everyone. Love Liz
