Subject: talk to me about Gluten <please>

Jim & Kris,

You have both mentioned the gluten-free way of life. You listed wheat,

barley and rye. I am going to show my ignorance here, as I have not looked

any of this up, but are you saying kiss my pasta and breads goodbye now

too?????????

===

Pasta and breads made with gluten flours - YES.

But you can buy gluten free pasta that is delicious, and gluten free breads

too.

You can have gluten-free pancakes and pizza.

I tested negative for celiac disease - but my chronic panc has been

dramatically better since I went gluten free in April 2003. " Doctors " may

try to discourage you with the comment " It's such a HARD diet to stay on "

I'm here to tell you that NOBODY has less will-power than THIS old bat. But

when I noticed a remarkable improvement after trying the gluten-free diet

for only 3 weeks - I've had NO problem staying " religious " .

I'm not a doctor, but I suspect that anyone with compromised digestion is

likely to find gluten hard to stomach (pun intended). So, give it an

honest try for 1 month - and see if it helps.

Good luck from an old bat, Barb
