Guest guest
Hi everyone-- I need some help. My son, , went on the SCD in January, and did beautifully on this diet for about ten months. In the last two weeks--with NO dietary changes whatsoever--he has had massive behavioral regression. He has mild autism (has had it for years), and the " tendencies " of this disorder lightened up significantly a couple of weeks into the diet. During the last 2 weeks, he has started, for the first time ever, to twist his hands in this weird double-jointed way, and to twist his mouth/lips the same way. He is normally okay at school, and we've received probably 8 calls from the school in the last two weeks. We are very worried that he has developed an allergy to the nuts or some other food on the diet. He has a history of " developing " allergies to foods, and we are down to just almost nothing. Has anyone ever heard of this/have any experience with this? Does anyone know of a physician who can advise? I feel like I'm alone in this world figuring this out. And to eliminate any more foods is just extremely frightening (we've been slowly eliminating his foods since he was 4 months old--he's now 8.5). We've always been very willing to do the work for the diet, but I'm honestly afraid--for the first time in his life--that there's about to be nothing left. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks, _________________________________________________________________ Try Search Survival Kits: Fix up your home and better handle your cash with Live Search! http://imagine-windowslive.com/search/kits/default.aspx?kit=improve & locale=en-US\ & source=hmtagline
