Hello Everyone.

I just found this group tonight and wanted to introduce myself. I am the

mother of an 11 month old boy with CF. He was pretty much diagnosed at birth

when they performed emergency surgery for meconium ileus. He was less than

36 hours old and still 4 weeks early. But he made it through like a trooper.

They started him on albuterol treatments after he came off the respirator

(from surgery-not from being premie) and enzymes as soon as he was drinking

milk.

He's now doing great. Most people who meet him are shocked when we say he

has CF. He is scheduled for his second set of PFT's this Friday. It should

be interesting to see how he handles them. The biggest challenge the first

time was keeping him awake on the drive in - of course we got stuck in rush

hour traffic!

Anyway, I am excited to share ideas, challenges and most of all

accomplishments with all of you.

Regards,

KaronB

Welcome to the group! This site is a wealth of information. I hope you are

able to give and receive some helpful tips. How old is your son now?

I see you were treated in Columbus. We are from Indianapolis, but go to

Cinncinnati for treatment. That is so great you have had success. Could you

share your Dr.'s name, as I am sure others would like to know. I don't think

any one is aware of Ponseti doctors having success in Columbus, and it might

help other families.

Welcome to the group!

Thanks for sharing your site. It's always wonderful to hear of yet another

doctor who is using the Ponseti method correctly and acheiving these great

results.

Cullen, by the way, is one handsome little guy. He's almost exactly a month

younger than my son. Is he still doing so well and tolerating the FAB/DBB at

bedtime?

Just so you can update the link on your site, Dr Ponseti's Virtual Hospital site

is now at:

Another site--put together by a parent--that is full of all sorts of information

is at:
